about

Oonops is back with another essential and highly-limited co-operation project on a 45 with Japanese Jazz trio Nautilus. It's time to cover two more pieces of catchy earworms from back in the days: Starting on the A-side with Matt Bianco's 80s classic »Half A Minute« which gets the Nautilus treatment. In their unique way they transform it into a smooth and deep jazzy version with a big funky bass line, playful keys and drums plus the beautiful voice of Mizuki Kamata on top (who was involved in their songs »Move On Up« and »Tom's Diner« as well).
On the flipside we go back into the 60s and where you'll get a big groove monster version of »Dirty Old Bossa Nova« (The Howard Roberts Quartet) with lots of bass and keys before Toshiyuki Sasaki on the drums turns it from Bossa Nova into a heavy drum'n'bass style.

This release is produced exclusively for Nautilus 2023 German tour where it's available for purchase as a limited 7inch. Very limited copies will hit some selected stores around the globe and land on Bandcamp for those who can't join the concerts to get their hands on it.

The profits of this release will help us refinancing the tour. 🫶

Pressed loud and crispy on recycled vinyl. Be quick before they're gone, no re-press!
